An unusual but highly ornamental flower that grows naturally in and around salt lakes. Slender, brown, wiry stems carry fleshy green clasping leaves. Stems divide repeatedly and culminate in clusters of yellow flowers within a pair of shield leaves. A compact plant 15 to 20 cm high and across. Good for pots and small hanging baskets but not for dried flowers.
Germination period 10 to 15 days.
